That said, however, I agree 100%. If you enter a room full of professionals who know the lingo and use said lingo incorrectly, you can expect confusion and probably bad advice (if someone takes you too literally).
Property != instance variable. However, I think the OP understands the mechanics, but just got the terminology wrong.
