OK. I marked is as 2.7.0 and `pinned` so that it does not get closed
automatically by the stalebot.
Suggestion (this is what I do with such cases @vandonr-amz) - I'd suggest
periodic rebasing of that one ("rebase early, rebase often" is a good strategy)
, and we can get back to the discussion and see if in the meantime we have
better solution for 2.7.0 and we can come back to the discussion.
I hope this will not be "let's defer to 2.8" when we get there. I would
really hate that.
