I think we should call for a pause on that one. I have a feeling that I sparked a debate that has somewhat got out-of-hand. There is no way we can have this debate solved for 2.6 - the next opportunity is 2.7 and there are good arguments on both sides. I think we will see in a few months if there is a better solution to the re-parsing problem. I personally think it is a long way to avoid parsing (I feel we underestimate complexity of), but I see how we have not spend enough time discussing it a and understanding in how many places it affects the code. And maybe we will have no time in hte next few months, who knows. But maybe the discussion of re-parsing will progress and we will know better what can and what can't be done there If anything this whole discussion is just another manifestation of the first part of the saying: > There are only two hard things in Computer Science: cache invalidation and naming things and off-by-one mistakes. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
