yihua opened a new pull request, #945:
URL: https://github.com/apache/hudi-rs/pull/945

   ## Description

   closes #944

Every table write now returns `WriteResult`, and `AppendResult` is removed.
`WriteResult.instant` becomes `requested_time: Option<String>`, which is `None`
when the write made no commit (replacing the empty-string sentinel) and pairs
with the existing `completion_time`. An append reports its rows as both
`num_writes` and `num_inserts`. The commit and first-base-file paths that only
`AppendResult` carried are dropped, and the tests that read them rebuild the
paths from the instant times or from the file slices. The Python
`HudiWriteResult` keeps its fields and now maps straight from `WriteResult`.
The write API has not shipped in a release.

   ## How are the changes test-covered

   - [ ] N/A
   - [x] Automated tests (unit and/or integration tests)
   - [ ] Manual tests
     - [ ] Details are described below

The existing write, bulk insert, lifecycle, rollback, archival and
composite-key suites cover the new field and the append result, along with the
Python write tests.
