Mike de Rhino commented on NIFI-274: ------------------------------------- [~bende], I would say that a PutTCP would make total sense but I'm not sure to what point a PutUDP would be a hard requirement. Scenarios like using NiFi to channel data to legacy Syslog based systems like Arcsight or Splunk would work perfectly well with a TCP Output. Frequently people want to be able to have non blocking ingestion mechanisms to end point (e.g. UDP syslog fire and forget approach) but I confess struggle to imagine why would someone want to mix a loss tolerant pipeline with a fire and forget UDP output. > Syslog processors > ----------------- > > Key: NIFI-274 > URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/NIFI-274 > Project: Apache NiFi > Issue Type: New Feature > Components: Extensions > Affects Versions: 0.1.0 > Environment: any > Reporter: Corey Flowers > Assignee: Bryan Bende > Priority: Minor > Labels: features > Fix For: 0.4.0 > > Attachments: NIFI-274-2.patch, NIFI-274-3.patch, NIFI-274.patch > > > request to add syslog processors for direct interaction with syslog to > include pulls and pushes of log info. -- This message was sent by Atlassian JIRA (v6.3.4#6332)
