Version inflation is as evil and misleading, IMHO
Sure. Especially in Java, where Jar-Versioning is a somewhat unsolved problem (okay you CAN solve it with classloaders but it's a PITA). Still, you were taling about years :-)
Anyways, why do not we have all HttpClient regualrs vote on this issue and get it over with?
We should not forget to ask/notify other Commons projects that use HttpClient, such as Slide.
