I'm pretty new to this so please bear with me. I'm using vfs to monitor a few files on a remote ftp server as well as some local file system type files. The DefaultFileMonitor alerts to changes on the local file system files but not on the ftp servers. Having said that, I've run the ShowProperties.class to show the last modified dates on the files on the ftp servers and that seems to work. Why is it that I cannot monitor the files on the ftp server for changes when I can see the last modified date changing? All the best, Tony
