Didn't I? How'd you get the mail??

The reasoning for posting here is a little off topic but.... My first
inclination was to post to [EMAIL PROTECTED] because its an open list.
However, it seemed to factional to do so. I had no choice but to post here,
even though the people who I most want to hear from are the ones whom I've
NEVER heard from before (some of which generate wiki content).

I don't subscribe to infrastructure. I object to the closed nature of
community@ let alone discussing the wiki in private -- why should the wiki
discussion be a big secret not discussed with anyone but members and
infrastructure???? My issue with the PMCization of Apache is that
everything is moving to private lists. How is this open???

I work to open up other organizations I'm in...meanwhile this one seems like
its closing and not by some sinister effect but through the PMCization and
through not TRYING to make things open. I think the open in open source
requires effort! Maybe the counter effect of PMC-ization is that in our
zeal for oversight we're losing sight of what REALLY matters.

I'm not really intentionally throwing criticism on what many view as long
overdue oversight reforms, but as a result we have to try and be more open
where before there was no real choice. I don't really know what the
"systems" or process-based solution is (which seems to be favored on the
whole these days at Apache), but maybe just effort to post openly until a
solution comes out.

Mainly its kind of a pain. I guess a header page on all of the sub wikis
that points to a directory could be a good work around...not sure how you'd
share content like that across wikis but I guess that would make me content.

I'd like to move what parts of this discussion I participate in on to the
community list rather than the non-public totally closed infrastructure
list. I WISH all wiki contributors could be involved in the discussion but
I'm not going to whip that dead animal.
