IMail originally used a text file, then moved to a MS Access DB then to a MS
SQL DB, I believe that the error you are seeing means that Declude cannot
connect to the MS SQL DB but Declude should be connecting to the MS Access
DB, best way to find out whether the Address Book WHITLEIST is working would
be to test with a new address in the IMail AddressBook.

Subject: Addressbook Whitelist - what MS Access db is used?

Hi,

I wonder whether my Addressbook Whitelist is still working.

A while back (with the new Webmail version in an Imail upgrade), things
slowed to a crawl for some users. Ultimately, it turned out to be related to
the collaboration features and to the appointment check/notification
features that none of my customers need or want. It turned out that the
special Workgroup Share service was not actually needed for ActiveSynch
(iPhone/Android MS Exchange simulation).

There was no way to just “disable” them – you had to rerun Imail setup and
“uninstall” them, which I did. Cleaning up / turning off obsolete Imail
“features” had been on my list for a while, so I finally saw it through and
all was good.

I do notice THIS in the Declude log. Now I wonder if Declude is attempting
to somehow access the collaboration MS Access database – and because it
doesn’t find it, it doesn’t perform the Address Book whitelist:

E-mail with weight >=19 (10) and at least 1 recipients (2).

E-mail with weight >=14 (10) and at least 4 recipients (2).

E-mail with weight >=12 (10) and at least 6 recipients (2).
04/25/2013 03:51:34.967 q958d0002120f82a2.smd DataBase Error = [Could not
find file '(unknown)'. Driver's SQLSetConnectAttr failed]
04/25/2013 03:51:34.967 q958d0002120f82a2.smd Finish Address Book WhiteList

I checked, the user does have the sender in question in their web mail
address book – and, of course, the address book in web mail has continued to
be working just fine all this time. The database is in place at:

                D:\IMail\WorkgroupShare\Data\WorkgroupShare.mdb

just where it should be.

I also checked the ODBC data sources and “WorkgroupShare” still exists and
points to the right database.

Any pointers what Database Declude is looking for – and where it’s getting
the “unknown” from?
Does this error message mean that Addressbook Whitelisting is not
functional?

Best Regards,
Andy
