Greeting all, Steiner, in the BioDynamic lectures, advocates a technique for controlling moles that has also been effective in controlling other pests, including our nemesis the Monax. Like most BioDyo techniques, it is fairly esoteric and in this case somewhat gruesome. Here's the recipe. Take one dispatched groundhog and skin. Thoroughly dessicate the pelt and grind/pulverize/powder. Take the powder and sprinkle the perimeter of the protected area. For the groundhog I have also tossed some down the burrow. For large areas, a water-dilluted powder can be sprayed on the perimeter and non-production areas. In my interpretation this is an organically approved input, but check with your ACA prior to application. I prefer the terrier/rifle option. Trapping is pretty much the same answer I had arrived at but, as with all committees, I had other people who wanted to know other methods. At the farm I simply send in my terriers and follow them with a 22 just in case one of the varmits gets past them. Can't do that in town. I appreciate all of the input.
