Hi Ellen, We are just beginning to explore this partnership as well. Right now, Habitat has provided us with a land use agreement for four of their undeveloped parcels that are adjacent to five city parcels we will be using for the first urban farm in Wilmington, DE. This is in a community that has many Habitat homes.
Our hope as we move forward is that we can continue to work with Habitat as they plan/develop new communities. One of their board members is currently working with us on the urban farm project but he initially approached us about partnering with them to enable community gardens to be developed along with their Habitat communities. I think the idea sounds excellent if there are enough of their residents interested and I am excited about pursuing it further with them. I would love to stay in contact with you about your experiences as you delve further into it.
