Hey! Some of you may recall that at previous conferences folks were invited to bring slides (an outdated image projection technology involving negatives of film and a high intensity light bulb) of their gardens with them to the conference to share with everyone else. This year we'd like to try something new:
If your community garden has been on the Channel 2 action update news, or your local PBS station shot a video documentary of your community garden, or some eager young independent film maker did a promo tape for you, or whatever, and you have that on a DVD somewhere, and it's less than half an hour long, please feel free to bring it with you for "movie night" at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens. We'll show one real movie then we'll cycle through however many short clips we can while people are alternately milling around the gardens and dropping in to see a film or two. We've never tried this before, so be prepared for technical issues. We have a laptop and know how to open and close the slide out thing that the DVD fits into. And that's it. If it works, it's going to be cool. You can contact me by email or at the info table at the conference on Friday. Movie Night is Saturday. Hope to see many of you here, -fgc Fred Conrad Community Garden Coordinator Atlanta Community Food Bank 732 Joseph E.
