Hi Mark,

Yes, the Atari ST series used Digital Research's GEM (Graphics Environment
Manager) as its GUI. It was good, but it always felt a bit "clunkier" than
the Mac OS of the time, System 6. (Yay, Martin!)

Which now makes me wonder: Was there ever a port of GEM for the Mac?

I know it was available for the Intel platform as well as the Motorola
680x0 series of chips, but I don't think I ever saw it mentioned for any
Mac use? Maybe Apple forbade it? I know they had a couple of "look and
feel" lawsuits against Atari re: GEM.

Anyone?

     Rob
