I was/am contemplating doing something like this by taking an empty compact Mac case and rebuilding it from scratch to hold a PowerMac. I have the empty case (from a Classic II) but will have to take a closer look at the feasability of the whole idea before investing any time or money of the project. The biggest downer is the fact that a colour CRT tube is to long to fit into the case - I have the dim hope of finding a short-necked tube somewhere which will fit (For a time Panasonic made monitors with just such a short tube - albeit in 15"+ sizes - with the aim of lowering the desktop footprint.). I guess greyscale is pretty cool though - especially if you consider the lengths people are willing to go to to get said greyscale on an SE/30. Anyway, before starting on such a project, I have to finish my much-delayed (is it seven months now?) Colour Classic Mystic upgrade. The upgrade itself is finished, but the CC's analog board has some problems which stop it from working properly in 640x480 mode (a couple of burnt looking components and some bad solder joints). She'll be a beaut once she's finished though. Ditto to the Power Classic. Regards, Adam. -- Compact Macs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
