A while back I mentioned an abused Plus that I had gotten in. It had
analog board problems, ie: intermittent screen visibility and failure to
boot at all with rhythmic clicking from the speaker. After scrutinizing
almost every component on the board, I found a broken lead on a diode,
soldered it back together and got the Plus to boot.

After turning down the brightness pot, I got a clear screen by turning
the focus control up to it's limit.

The problem is, the width control is at it's limit as well and the image
size is by necessity, small. The height can be adjusted all of the way
to the edge of the screen.

Question 1: Are there specific capacitors, or other parts that I can
replace, that will allow me to make the image wider.

Question 2: since this Plus has a beat up case and is less than perfect
otherwise, I'm experimenting with installing a Radius 16 accelerator in
it. I got this cheaply a while back but it is missing some parts like
the power cable and fan & baffle assembly. I have a fan that I can use
but don't know which two leads on the Plus power cable can be tapped for
a 12v power supply to the accelerator. I can, of course switch the Plus
on and use a voltmeter to check the connector's solder points on the
analog board but there would always be some doubt about which two pos
and neg wires were the right ones to tap. Does anyone know which wires I
should tap? An educated guess will do.

Thanks in advance, Hardy
