definitely check the power supply voltages first.  it could be the power
supply is failing, in which case the fix is a pain, you basically
replace all the electrolytic caps in the power supply.  of course
working on the power supply has a few hazards as well, it has large
input capacitors you need to short, and i'd definitely suggest a
resistor in series on those to avoid damage, they store significant
energy at about 200v.  the last se/30 power supply i tried to fix was a
no go, and i also replaced all of the rectifiers, but if it's working
for a while and then shutting down it's probably not too far gone and
new caps would probably fix it.  definitely check the +5 volt output and
+12v output.  the easiest way to do that is usually to put a "Y" cable
on the hard drive and probe it there.
