>What is the max I can have in a Classic? I believe 2 gig is the largest that can show up as one drive with system 6 or system 7. With 7.5, I think it's upped to 4 gig and with 7.5.5 its up to 2 terrabytes.
I've got a 1 gig external on my SE/30. I just recently upgraded from a 500m (external, swapped out the drive), that I used with my SE before obtaining the SE/30. I would recommend an external drive if possible for a few reasons. The drive will then be on its own power supply, taking a bit of strain off the computer's. If you have another Mac (ecspecially one with a burner), you can back an external drive up pretty quick by attaching it to another machine, faster than using 10baseT networking. The main reason I like it though is because it puts the screen about 3" higher, making it easier to read. Hope some of this helps, J White -- Compact Macs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/>.
