Hi,
I read a post on here a little while ago about washing the motherboard on the classic II to fix the checker board fault.

Didnt believe it would work but with a bit of time on my hands I thought why not. What did I have to loose. After all it could always become the MacQuarium I want for my daughter.

So after washing it in warm soapy water and drying it in front of the dehumidifier I reassembled the beast.

To my amazement it worked first time and hasnt skipped a beat.

Pass if I know why it worked but thanks for the tip.

Cheers
Mike
