I have actually accidentally forgotten to plug in the card altogether before, then turning it back on to its infamous checkerboard, scratching my head, and wondering why it didn't work... then noticing the card it's missing. I already washed it... but it's still dirty, needing another wash :-P Like I read in the archive a few times, it can't hurt... and what do I have to lose? Heck, this time, I'm running it through a short cycle in the dishwasher... low heat, of course (I can change the temp of the water)... and since it does have 1mb of RAM soldered onto the board, that may just be why. And heck, it may solve my lack-of-sound problem! My Classic hasn't made a chime, beep, or boink ever since I got it (unless I have headphones plugged in)...
Thanks for the advice, though... Falcon PS: the only difference between this washing and others before me is that this one... is a Classic I... the others are all IIs.
