Your hardware is probably OK. 10.3.3 is the problem. I don't have the answer.
I'm pissed off about it too, since my G4 PowerBook runs 10.2.6 and can "see" and be "seen" by my legacy Macs, but my B&W "upgraded" to 10.3.3 cannot.
Apple dumped on us.
