Sounds like somebody needs res-edit! In my case, I just replaced the OS8 Mac-man splash screen under OS9.2 with the truly Classic "Welcome to Macintosh" Picasso splash screen. Now I feel like I'm using a Mac! JMHO.
As for a productive remark, I seem to recall there was a Mac system key-combo you could press when starting up to PREVENT the desktop from rebuilding. Though I guess doing it through software will prevent the inevitable "D'oh!" when you forget to hold the keys down as well delay the onset of carpal-tunnel. For the record, partitioning IS a more elegant solution, but only once you've set your system the way you want it. (Those externals are just easier to keep track of when you are experimenting, especially when labeled) And, IF your internal is big enough -- when I made that remark, I forgot how small the early HDs were (as I glance over at my 120 Gig external). If you really want to max that system out (which would have resulted in a second mortgage on your house in the day), stick a whopping 500 MB HD in there (what was the biggest made that would fit inside a CC II in 1992)? > From: Liam Proven <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > I do like the boot screen saying MacOS, though.
