The mouse pad you are looking for is kinda hard to find, but it is way worth it! I have a couple early opticals in use on my SUN machines, their mousepads look like a shiny metal sheet with a really small grid pattern on them. I believe the sun version will work with your mouse. So don't fret and don't throw that relic away! the early opticals were really cool :)
