Sorry to be slow to reply, and I'm moving this over to companion-discuss.

Maybe that would work, I don't know. I first wanted to get all interested 
parites to put their needs out on the table so as a community we could look 
at it and try to decide what is or is not possible.

I'm not adverse to working, or having as many in the community focus on one 
project, but think the community needs to understand how they want to have a 
common set of libs and go with it.

If the Nexentra libs duplicate the Sun libs, that could be a problem that 
would be best worked out before too much effort was put forth. I don't know 
how that would sit with the Nexenta folks, they might not be flexible, I 
don't know. But I would like to work for most distros out today for 
OpenSolaris so it would become something that everyone could build on.

It would be nice if the community wasn't so fragmented, but I don't know of an 
easy solution for that.
