They are both. Adobe has always priced their software in the upper
tier of the price range and cried foul when no one bought it.
JASC came up with a photoshop replacement and priced it at the
$100.00 marker and made a killing. It sold so well that Corel, no
slouch either in the graphics market bought them out. Still sells well.
So who is telling the truth?
It comes down to the price mark.
How many DOS 5's did MS sell? Look at the price mark of it when it
came out. If Vista would lower their price by half (Think Iphone
dropping theirs by $200) I bet it would sell a whole lot more.
People are not interested in high priced software!!!!!!
When the cost of the software starts equaling what they paid for the
unit, it is time to rethink you pricing model.

They told us that the reason for their software being so expensive was
their need to make up for sales lost to pirating. They said that for
every copy sold, two or three copies were stolen. So now they tied their
software up using online activation to prevent pirating. However the
prices did not decline at all. Definitely no 75% price cut. So the
question is 1) Are they liars? or 2) Are they crooks? Or both?
