I've always thought that the "I'm a Mac" ads were pretty clever and (in
general) stayed within bounds in terms of factual accuracy. It now appears,
however, that the campaign has been taken over by the political marketing
people: the latest one is inaccurate at best and intentionally misleading at
worst.

In the ad, PC says that MS has decided to stop using the word "Vista"
because "the V-word doesn't sit well with frustrated users." He has a
buzzer, which he uses every time Mac tries to say it.

This is restaurant-quality BS. I assume that it refers to the recent
announcement that the next version of Windows will be named "Windows 7".
This has nothing whatsoever to do with Vista; it's just the name of the next
version. Vista is the name of a particular version of Windows, and the fact
that it's not going to be used for a different version is of no significance
whatever.

I think that Mac has been spending too much time with Sarah Palin.
