This may not be it but it has happened to me.

After having something very similar happen to me. I swapper power cords with something else and tried plugging it in.

It worked.

Don't ask me why but it does happen.

I only wish all problems were that easy.

You could get a cheap voltage tester at Radio Shack, but that costs about
the same as a replacement power supply.

Can you patch in another power supply, like from a differen computer?
