There should not be any church militias!!! (Separation of church and state or in theological language kingdom of the left and kingdom of the right.)

However Canada's hospital systems belie your comments they are efficiently run and well run. Though they are owned by the government.

One of the biggest problems we have here in the states is the profit motive in health care. It has done all sorts of nasty things to our insurance rates and actually lessened health care. Doctors offices and hospitals are only waiting three months before sending accounts out to collection, and that is after collecting the insurance fees. It has all come down to profit, and not care.
