You do not need to screw with manually saving your favorites. Just get any bookmark synchronizer like the freeware Foxmarks (http://download.foxmarks.com/download/all) and your Favorites are automatically sync'ed among all your devices, be it a new computer or your laptop. They're also safely backed up this way.
