Your faith in this old, worn out technology is touching, but handing out bad advice is reprehensible.
We used RAID back long ago when we had to. In the old days when drives were slow and small. It was never a reliable technology, but we put up with it because we had to. Today when I can get a 2TB drive for little more than $100, using RAID is just silly.
