Belgium is three countries with people that don't get along, much like Switzerland, Spain, France, Germany.
Main difference is that the hostilities make Belgians so angry that many hardly want to talk to each other. It's also difficult with multiple languages in a small country. That may be the reason why they can't build out beyond cities and why prices are so much higher there.
