Samuel: Thanks again for the pointers. With wpa_supplicant recompiled to provide support for the "new" D-Bus interface, the proprietary TI wireless extensions driver, wpa_supplicant-0.7.3 and connman-0.68 all work together and successfully establish a wireless connection.
