There is and was modular SCSI support.  I overlooked aic7xxx and have
apologized for that error as well as created new ISO's for those folks
needing that driver.  I have SCSI on both of my machines and use it
regularly. Nearly every module that will compile on PPC is included, many
of which will probably never get used. It may be true that SCSI did not
wokr on your particular machine.  I've read of various "tricks" that have
to be performed on some Macs to get it to work, not only in Mandrake, due
to the way it is implemented on some machines. (removing certain
devices/cards, etc. etc.)
