I used a Dell Inspiron 8100 with that problem for a while. It was a pain in 
the donkey no matter how many clicks you needed. It also had a habit of 
moving the mouse if you waved a digit *near* the touchpad. I ended up 
disabling the touchpad completely and using an external optical mouse.
