So before trying to update a running cooker, just type urpmi urpmi (or if
neccessary urpmi perl-URPM urpmi to make sure urpmi and perl-URPM will be
updated).
I subscribe to the Mandrake-Changelog list, so I follow what is new daily and always upgrade urpmi when I see that there is a new one.
