iI'd renamed the directory that the mp3 files were in (in order to please
grip's default settings) and hadn't informed the xmms playlist of the change.
;)  But I thought it was a Mandrake problem because an earlier version of
Mandrake had the problem that no sound would work except for root.  Except this
time every other sound program I tried worked--which mystified me and should
have tipped me off to the real problem. :)

It's the week for stupid errors, I guess.  Earlier in the week, I was building
a machine and thought the power supply was bad when I'd plugged in the wrong
machine... heheh

Off to bed... :)
