Hello,

I'm the packager for the KDE2 stuff....

Can you please try something and then please let me know what error
messages you get....

1. Go into a shell and to your ~/ directory. move .kde to .kde.old.

2. Did you install kde2and1scripts ? This currently requires a force.

3. Is your machine listed in the /etc/hosts file? If not add the line:

127.0.0.1 machinename machinename.domain.name


4. Reboot.

5. now try


Please also let me know if you are using "startx" or if you are logging in
through the Window Manager.

You may also want to try subscribing to the kde2 users list at
[EMAIL PROTECTED] , it is pretty helpfull in getting people
running. Those guys have been using the builds since last November.
