Easier said than done. A few things would need to be put in motion. 1. Is that the patches are accepted and plugged 2. Figuring out what needs to be "cleaned up" for compatibility reasons 3. Help from other people There's no sense in anyone doing such a thing unless the patches will be accepted and intergrated, thus far I feel doubtful that any of them will be. Prior patches I've submitted not regarding GNOME (mpg123, msec, etc...) were never accepted and intergrated, you're the only one who has responded to to this xmms.spec patch, that says enough there. How I'm going about this right now as from a pure "loner" method. I'm simply building cooker packages that I use (except for GNOME and the kernel), if I run into an oops, I make a patch : ) As far as help, it would be nice if others would get involved, but simply voicing yourself for compatibility is a good step. Thus, I'm still on that "loner" method until I see otherwise. Compatibility is this sense has to be mutual.
