Electric pressure cookers are much safer these days as they have more safety features than the old stove top pressure cookers.
I bought an instantpot pressure cooker that I can control via Bluetooth from my iPhone. The smart cooker app is very accessible and you can monitor the pressure and temperature through the app. You can use this unit as a slow cooker as well. To read up on it go to http://instantpot.com.
