I have used a pressure cooker over the years. I did have one blow out the
safety valve and spray beans all over the ceiling. What a mess. Needless to
say, that one was thrown away. We believe that it was simply too full.

Most of the stories I have read about people being burned have been from
opening the lid too soon. It is absolutely essential that you wait until every
little bit of pressure is out of the pan prior to opening the lid. You can take
it to the sink and run cold water over the lid to help this process. In my old
age, I just seem to do things the slow way, you know, the old standby oven and
the magnificent crockpot. Hth, Linda

I can't wait to make roast in that thing. Lol.

Electric pressure cookers are much safer these days as they have more safety
features than the old stove top pressure cookers.

I bought an instantpot pressure cooker that I can control via Bluetooth from
my iPhone.

The smart cooker app is very accessible and you can monitor the pressure and
temperature through the app.

You can use this unit as a slow cooker as well.

To read up on it go to http://instantpot.com.

Hope that helps.

Larry

I should do the research but let me start here first.

I just ordered a 6.5 qrt pressure cooker. Has anyone heard any horror stories
concerning the pressure cooker?

My coworker states that she will never get one after her friend was burned from
her face down to her chest by one.
