Paul; I just finished overhauling a C-85 for around $5,000. I could go to the hanger and get most of the receipts, but I will list what I remember. These numbers are approximate, but pretty close. Crankcase/accessory case Ajax overhaul 715 Crankshaft ground .010 Elliot 265 Camshaft D & D 75 Cylinders ground .015 over and overhauled with new exhaust valves, seats, and all rockers bushed - included .015 rings 725 New tappet bodies D & D 640 Carburetor overhaul Aircraft Accessories 315 All steel parts magnufluxed 100 New internal parts/major gasket set. This includes new pistons, oil pump gears and all new hardware including parts recommended by continental 1015 Low time mags/harness Jolly Dawson 450 New baffles M-10 from Univair 175 Miscellaneous 300 I did all the work, including putting on a new data plate.
