The CD was a factory conversion.  It was done prior to the 2 (that's right, there were only 2!) D models that were factory built.  Contrary to thinking, a CD is not yet a D, but well on it's way.

Subject: [COUPERS] What the Hell do you want a CD for?

----[Please read http://ercoupers.com/disclaimer.htm before following any advice in this forum.]----

Is your paper work in order?

What the Hell do you want a CD for any way. Any Ercoupe that is register as a 415CD (is by the book) 1260 # .

This is really starting to get to me. “ I have a 1946 CD”.  Well, I don’t think so. I think you have a D that once was a C.

Have you ever heard of an Ercoupe 415 CE?  Two get one you take a C (Lynn take this in because that what you want to do?) First you do the steps to make it a D then you do the steps to make it an E. So do you call it a CE?

Why do people convert a C to CD? WHEN A PERSON CONVERT A 1947 CD to a D, why do they do that? FOR THE GROSS WEIGHT differents. A  1947 CD is a D with more up elevator but LESS gross weight 1260 vs. 1400

If a 1946c Was reworked to get 1400# it is NOT a CD it became a D other wise it is limited to 1260#   Or am I the only one who cares?
