We have observed on N99387 that there is really very little room to add additional control column travel to accommodate increased up deflection on the split elevator we are contemplating. The cross-beam will contact the fuel valve assembly in another inch or so. However, we have also observed that the control horn geometry is a bit different on the split elevator. So the question, for anyone who has done this job is, 'does the altered geometry of the elevator get you to the required increase in deflection without changing the location of the up-stop from where it would be on a 415C?' Or is there some other trick we're missing?
