I seem to recall that one has to be a bit careful with planes
that are gravity-fed from a fuselage tank. I read same in
some catalog entry for (I think) the Shadin product. In
the case of a 172, you have enough 'head' that the
sensing unit both has enough pressure to work properly
AND doesn't impede the flow. But in cases where the
fuel flows only a foot or so downhill, things may go
awry.

I also recall that someone on the list has a fuel
computer in their plane, but don't recall who.
