If your tank is leaking around the rivets, why can't you drain the
tank, drill out the offending rivets and re-rivet in place? Use the
proper type of pull rivets, then vacuum out the tank with a hose taped
to a vacuum hose. You may be able to reach the drain by undoing just the
bottom of the wing fairing. Also watch for wear on the tank where the
fairings touch the tank. I used teflon anti-chafe tape, it will almost
stop any where on the tank. Stick it on the tank, not the fairings.
That's my 1 1/4 cents[2 cents Canadian] worth.
P.S. I've flown for the last two days. The weather is perfect and winds
calm. I did keep in contact with the local Air Force base just to make
sure I didn't have to out climb any F-18's. It's been a hard time for
everyone, so we must all be patiant with the flight restrictions as well
as those who may be easy targets to release our anger at who are NOT
guilty because of skin colour or religion. There's a relative handful of
radical nuts out there, and if we're careful we can root them out. We
must use our heads before we use our guns.
