----[Please read http://ercoupers.com/disclaimer.htm before following any advice in this forum.]---- This from the aopa web site:
NSC still prohibits most VFR operations 9/19/01 8:47:39 AM, ET - The National Security Council (NSC) met again last night at 5 p.m. EDT to consider VFR flight operations, but it made no decisions. Apparently they've now realized that they don't have to do anything. They can just make no decision. They don't have to say why. Any call for accountability will just lead to a pointer to 'National Security.' You can't argue with that, because that isn't discussed. It absolves officialdom from accountability. Well, maybe until the next election. We won't forget. 'Thank you for your service in time of crisis, now go home to Texas where you came from. And take your Congressional Delegation with you. Those that are left after the next election, that is.' Power corrupts. Absolute power corrupts absolutely. It sure doesn't take long.
