Joe, I agree with you 100 percent. This terrorism is not over with.
There
is evidence that a 5th plane was to be used when the FAA grounded all
flights. Those Suicidal terrorists, note SUICIDAL, are still out there.
The airlines have beefed up security so tight that it is next to
impossible
to do anything. The terrorists were trained to be pilots, not exactly IFR
pilots either. As a matter of fact, 2 didn't even complete their flight
training. Their only way of easily getting a plane right now is renting
one
for a VFR flight. Even a Cessna 172 can do some serious damage and
destruction if used as a missile.

The military has been given the enormous task of controlling a "limited"
fly
zone over the continental United States. They are doing it with limited
resources and it makes perfect sense to limit traffic to IFR only. Flight
plans are on file and all planes are in direct contact with ATC. If an
IFR
flight deviates, the military is notified and they will target it and it
is
blown out of the sky. It's a cooperative effort that is straining
controllers and the military. You just can't handle this kind of mission
with VFR traffic.

Yes it's a pain in the buttocks, but dang it, so is looking up in the sky
and wondering if that Cessna isn't going to be the next terrorist bomb.
We
are in a state of war right now. It is only right to let the military and
our government (no matter how incompetent we think they are) handle the
situation until we are safe again. Just remember, they do have access to
a
lot more information than we do.
