----[Please read http://ercoupers.com/disclaimer.htm before following any advice in this forum.]---- The capilary tube that feeds the gauge can get plugged too. happened to me in the run-up area. I drained the oil, checked the valve, re-filled and it did it again. Turns out that a little speck of something that was lodged in the fitting. it was easily blown out with low airpressure from the fitting at the back of the gauge backwards toward the engine (with the fitting unhooked at the engine side too). no problems since.
