Dennis, what if you had removed the wing tank drains at the annual, then
raised and lowered the tail, would this have taken care of the water in
the
tanks? I have the same nightmare you do, only my tanks are both leaking
and
I don't know where on the left, but the fuel comes out of the rivets on
top
of the right tank. My manual says not to use vented caps with my Coupe,
but
I bought it last year with vented caps so I left them on to allow the
tanks
to breathe. I believe that if I had replaced the vented caps with
unvented,
a tank would have ruptured in the sun. I am kind of wondering if unvented
caps from some bygone era are not responsible for the damage I have now,
do
you use vented caps? Good luck finding any kind of written guidelines on
tank removal and replacement. There has been a lot of talk about this very
subject on this web page, so it sure looks like this is just an inherrent
problem with all Coupes. I look forward to hearing from anyone who can
help
out with wing tank R and R guidelines.Pete.
