Rick,

Welcome to the coupe club. You will enjoy flying your own coupe,
especially
if you fly it home yourself. I'm sure you will get several suggestions
about the appropriate route to take. I've not made a trip across the
mountains, but several on the net have made the trip. I would bet that
the
weather might be more predictable along the southern route. Just don't
get
in a rush. If you can start out when a patch of bad weather is to the
East
of California, you might be able to get all the way home without any bad
weather. Make sure your airport will plow the field if it snows in South
Haven while you are gone :-) Flying it home would sure be the most fun.
Do
2 or 3 stints of about 2.5-3 hours each, stopping for fuel, some food, a
little rehydration, and a short walk to unkink. You'll get home all too
soon. For what it's worth, I carry a quart of water in an insulated wrap
(from wal-mart) with me all the time. If I'm going on a long cross
country
I freeze the jug of water the night before. Keep hydrated (with water),
even if you have to stop to defuel more often. If you are coming through
southern Missouri feel free to stop in Springfield. I have a hanger we
can
stuff the plane in overnight and a spare room. Good luck and have a great
flight.
