Percy,

Thanks for your encouragement.

I know Ed is busy with his work and the EOC web page is secondary with
him.
He never intended to be a dedicated webmaster. With 9-11 and then the
holidays, I'm sure his updating efforts are taking more time than he
planned. I bet he gets to it though, and I'll bet he will try to get
updated info about the Nationals posted. I don't think Ed is even flying
his plane right now, but he still makes an effort to share his knowledge
about coupes.

I went to the Nationals in Jacksonville, Illinois for two years, but
missed
the Nationals in DC. I made it to Texas last year. I always enjoy myself
and I look forward to meeting new people and touch base with people I've
met
before. I don't have blocks of time that I can devote to such a program,
but I like to contribute something. Just going to the event is a good
contribution. I think everyone who owns a coupe should try to make the
Nationals for this reason alone.

I remember reading comments about the lack of participation in California
1997. That was unfortunate and we shouldn't let it happen again. I do
think the west coast coupers became more involved afterwards. I hope some
will make the trip to Michigan. If for no other reason, every couper
should
make the trip to see the 4 place coupe, which Marvin and Ruth are
restoring.

I wish we could get Spook to Michigan for the month of June to help
organize
:-)

One good idea for the Nationals would be for the EOC, or some active
region,
to spring for one of Syd's borescopes--the kind that can be hooked to a tv
and video recorder--and bring that for in-dept corrosion inspections that
are taped for later review. I think Coupers would even pay a reasonable
sum
to get this done. I don't see it as a money maker so much as a service
available for attendees. Having some accurate scales and a hanger for
weighing planes would also be a good service. Most of us are probably
overweight and don't know it. To make these services practical we need to
post in advance on the web site the dates, times and locations that these
or
other services would be available so individual attendees can plan ahead.
Otherwise we show up, fail to read the program, and miss out.

Keep up your motivation efforts. Hope to see you there.
